Fee, as recommended by the British Columbia Psychological Association is $160 for one treatment session. A treatment session is one full hour as opposed to the usual 50 minutes. If you have extended medical coverage, all or part of this fee is likely to be covered for a certain number of sessions. If you are unsure, please contact your insurance company to inquire about the extent of your coverage. It is important to note that the Medical Services Plan of BC does not cover psychological services. I offer a sliding scale for those who have limited or no insurance coverage, based on income level.
Clients pay by cash or cheque at the end of each therapy session, and I provide a receipt which can be submitted for reimbursement under your extended medical plan, or for income tax deductions as medical expenses. If you have an insurance plan or third party coverage which allows for direct billing by the psychologist, and you prefer it, I will invoice them directly. Twenty-four hour notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule.
